Mr CParticipantThis camp combgines three things younger elementary kids really like: animals, interesting stories, and learning about other places. I have done this camp two or three times and it’s always a hit.
It covers 20 class periods (eg, 2 classes for 2 weeks). Typically, we will sing a song, watch a short (to medium length) video, complete a worksheet, do a craft, then end with say a quiz game.
Attached are an xl grid with all the activities, supplies, etc, a poster, and a daily schedule like a flier. Since I’m not going to upload the videos, as many are too large, I’ve also provided YT links for most of the things I use.

Mr CParticipantDay 1: Shel Silverstein, Crocodile’s Toothache
-this is a little shorter because first session is where we go over rules and make nametags.
Day 2: Monkeys, with “Goodnight Gorilla” and Curious George Rides a Bike” George impresses a circus guy so he gets to go to the circus-

Mr CParticipantI am repeating this camp this winter, so I may add a few things.
First up is an add-on to Day 1, I will open with “a Giraffe and a Half” ppt. Starts with some vocab, then the poem, but I replaced some line endings with pictures. When the lines come up, I will have the camper yell the word at the end of it.
I have also shortened the poem a bit. Sacrilege, I know, but it is too long for 3rd graders.

Mr CParticipantAdded a PPT opener to review each week, with a “close-up” game, Ss try to figure out the thing in the close-up picture, then a review of stories/characters in pics.
