Mr CParticipantMy materials:
-I have a listening warm-up in two versions: Elsa singing Let it Go in numerous languages, and Yakko (Animaniacs) singing the countries of the world. I put students in pairs and have them write all the country names they can. Frozen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ic6hE59nNhI Yakko: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pOFKmk7ytU
-intro PPT has cartoon characters famous in different countries holding key dialogues, followed by 4 pictures, 1 word (it’s a country).
-disappearing dialogue for period 2 (in the cafeteria).
-introduction to the characters in the book and lesson 1 expressions.
-food+flags-iconic food of various countries in the shape of the country’s flag. Very cool-warm-up with Tayo/cartoon theme: teams choose a charater (e.g., Buzz or Woody) to reveal a scrambled word (Round 1=English-speaking countries) or sentence (Round 2=key vocab expressions)Attachments:

Mr CParticipantMore:
-Last Man Standing game, two rounds. In my version, each team gets a slide and each member reads/makes a sentence. Whoever chooses the green O remains standing to represent their team in the final round.
-Sentence Relay: full instructions included, students enjoy this a lot.
-R-P-S, the Rock-paper-scissors, Point-counting, Sentence-writing game. Very simple but students find it exciting
-another good song, Where are you from? by the Baby Grands, I have a lyrics sheet. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Khriqu_DIAttachments:

Animaniacs video, Review (utilizing hidden pictures), and a game called Globetrotters. For the game you’ll need globes for each team. Instructions are within the PPT.Attachments:
